‘Sensational Energy’ Pundit Hails Rangers Star After Seeing Him In Action Last Night

talkSPORT presenter, and former Sky Sports reporter, David Tanner has praised Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson after his performance for Scotland last night.

The 19-year-old was given his first start for his country by manager Steve Clarke, and he duly delivered by providing the assist for Lyndon Dykes’ goal against Moldova.

Patterson made a lung-busting run forward from deep in order to get a shot away. His attempt was parried into the path of Dykes, who slotted away to make it 1-0.  After the goal, Tanner took to Twitter to say:

The fullback is an extremely promising young player, and the Light Blues were absolutely correct to turn down interest from the likes of Everton and Liverpool before the transfer window closed.

Patterson looks certain to become an important first-team player for the Gers in the near future. With captain James Tavernier turning 30 in October, it won’t be long before the teenager is handed more starts at club level.
