REPORT: Talks “Have Started” As Club Make Move For 3M Rated Rangers Star

Istanbul Basaksehir “have started” negotiations to sign Rangers attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi, according to Sporx

The Turkish website claims that the reigning Super Lig champions are looking for a potential replacement for playmaker Irfan Can Kahveci, who could leave the club this month.

Hagi was signed from Racing Genk on a permanent basis last summer for £3m but, while the Romanian international has shown glimpses of his talent, he has yet to fully establish himself at Ibrox.

Whether the Light Blues would be willing to cash in on 22-year-old so soon, it seems doubtful, with manager Steven Gerrard having stated recently that he doesn’t want any important player leaving in the January transfer window.

Despite struggling to really make the impact he would have liked earlier in the season, Hagi has come back to the fore in recent weeks with goals and assists so it would be a big surprise if he were to be sold.
