REPORT: Rangers Told They Must Stump Up 4M To Secure Eighth Summer Signing

Preston North End are demanding £4m for midfielder Daniel Johnson, according to the Football Insider. There were reports that Rangers were hopeful of securing their eighth summer signing this weekend, in a deal worth £3m, but it appears that negotiations over a transfer fee are still ongoing.

There have been claims that the Jamaican is very interested in a move to Ibrox and, with the player inside the final year of his contract at Deepdale, the Gers are very much in the driving seat in negotiations.

Whether the Light Blues will up their bid for Johnson, it remains to be seen. The transfer deadline is now only ten days away and Preston are at risk of losing the player for nothing next summer if a transfer cannot be agreed.

It could be the case of calling the English Championship club’s bluff and waiting until the final moment to get the deal over the line.
