REPORT: Rangers Negotiating Deal To Sign 20-Year-Old Loan Star

Rangers superstar loanee Malik Tillman has been a sensation at the Ibrox Stadium this season – as such, the club are hoping to snap him up on a permanent basis [via The Herald].

At just 20 years of age, bringing Tillman to the club could be a massive coup for the Light Blues. Despite this, it is currently unclear as to whether Rangers and Bayern Munich can reach an agreement for his transfer.

Can Rangers sign Malik Tillman permanently?

If Rangers wish to bring Tillman to the Ibrox Stadium on a permanent basis, they will be required to pay the German giants a sum of £5 million – however, the Gers are believed to be negotiating this asking price.

Even if they cannot convince Bayern to let him go for any cheaper than this, it is a price worth paying – Tillman has lit up the Scottish Premiership this season and his best days are still well ahead of him.

Malik Tillman career summary

Born in Nuremberg, Malik Tillman’s youth career began at Greuther Furth, before being headhunted and subsequently snapped up by Bayern Munich in 2015 – when he was just 13 years of age. Immediately, it was clear that Tillman had a big future in professional football.

Tillman made his professional debut in 2020 for Bayern Munich second team, the aptly-named Bayern Munich II. He went on to make 25 appearances for ‘Little Bayern’, scoring nine goals in total.

He was promoted to Bayern Munich’s first team in 2021, but has only made four appearances for the Bavarian giants at the time of writing, with no goals to speak of.

Finally, in 2022, Tillman was given a chance to shine as he was loaned out to Rangers. The current season has been a breakout one for the USA international star – in 28 league appearance, he has scored ten goals and notched up four assists.
