REPORT: Rangers Interested In Highly-Rated 23-Year-Old Winger

Rangers are thought to be interested in a transfer for 23-year-old winger Luis Palma, according to a tweet from The 4th Official.

In the tweet, not only do they confirm the legitimacy of Rangers’ interest, they also claim that the Gers have credible links to promising forward Cyriel Dessers. Previously, it has been reported that the Light Blues have already submitted a significant bid for the latter.

A few weeks ago, Rangers boss Michael Beale reportedly mentioned that he was ‘not interested’ in signing Palma [via The Daily Record] – but more recent developments would seem to suggest otherwise.

In The 4th Official’s tweet, they wrote: “I have only done stories I am confident about, and according to a few people I have spoken with, the Rangers interest in both Cyriel Dessers and Luis Palma is real.”

Who else, besides Rangers, is interested in Luis Palma?

Apart from Rangers, the only other club to be explicitly linked with Palma in recent months is Leeds United [via Leeds Live].

Despite this, following the Whites’ relegation to the Championship at the end of the Premier League season, they may need to adjust their transfer priorities – therefore, a move for Palma to West Yorkshire could now be off the table.

Luis Palma career summary

Born in Honduras, Palma joined his first club, Vida, at the age of 13. He made his senior debut for Los Cocoteros in 2017, in a game against Honduras Progreso – he also scored in his first game for the club.

In total, he spent nine years with Vida at both junior and senior level, outside of a brief loan spell at Real Monarchs in 2019. The La Ceiba native joined Aris in 2022, for whom he has scored 14 goals in 37 appearances from the wing.

He has also received a number of caps for Honduras. So far, he has made six international appearances for Los Catrachos, but has yet to score a goal.
