REPORT: Gerrard Tops Four Man Shortlist To Take Over At English Championship Club

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is the leading candidate to be appointed the new manager of English Championship side Bristol City, according to the Express journalist Neil Fissler.

The reporter claims that the Robins’ owner Steve Lansdown has drawn up a four-man list of managers that includes Gerrard, Chris Hughton, Charlton manager Lee Bowyer and Plymouth Argyle’s Ryan Lowe.

However, Gerrard is the man that Lansdown wants following his decision to sack Lee Johnson after four and a half years in charge last week.

Bristol City currently sit eleventh in the table, just three points of the playoffs with three games of the season to go. However, prior to their 3-1 win against Middlesbrough under caretaker manager Dean Holden, they had lost all five games since the restart.

It would be a massive shock if Gerrard even considered giving up the reins at Rangers to move back down south, but we’ll just have to see how this story develops.
