REPORT: Gerrard Poised To Sign New Four And Half Year Contract At Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has “all but agreed” a new contract to stay at Rangers until 2024, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Light Blues have been negotiating with the 39-year-old over the past few weeks, and it is expected that the new four and a half year deal will be announced shortly after the League Cup final.

Gerrard’s current contract expires in 2022 but the Rangers board have been so delighted with the club’s progress under the former Liverpool player that they are willing to extend his stay for another two years.

The Gers boss has been linked with a return to Merseyside to eventually take over from Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, but this new deal will demonstrate his long-term commitment to the Scottish club.

During his time at Ibrox, Gerrard has won 55 of his 92 games in charge, with a win percentage of 59.8%, but he will be hoping to get his first trophy under his belt against Celtic tomorrow.
