Reliable Journalist Confirms That Chelsea Star Is ‘Expected To Sign’ For Rangers With Deal Done ‘Subject To A Medical’

Rangers are “expected to sign” Chelsea fullback Dujon Sterling on a free transfer, according to the Evening Standard reporter Nizaar Kinsella.

The usually reliable journalist claims that Chelsea have given the “green light” for the move to go ahead, with the deal set to be wrapped up “subject to a medical.”

Sterling has been on loan at Stoke City this season, where he has played 28 matches in all competitions for the English Championship side.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of June, so the Gers are being opportunistic by securing his services for nothing.

Sterling did only play two senior games for Chelsea but he does have a good deal of first-team experience, having made 105 appearances on loan spells at Coventry, Wigan, Blackpool and Stoke.

The defender can play both as a right-back and left-back, although he is predominantly right-footed so he will likely be providing competition for captain James Tavernier.
