Reliable Journalist Claims 3 Time Eredivisie Winner Is NOT Being Considered For Rangers Post

GO Radio journalist Jo Hendry has confirmed that former Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman is not being considered as a replacement for Steven Gerrard as Rangers manager.

Reports in Spain had suggested that the 58-year-old, who won the Eredivisie three times during spells as manager of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, was in contention for the Ibrox job. However, Hendry believes Koeman is not on the Gers’ shortlist:

It is some achievement that Rangers have managed to keep the majority of their potential candidates out of the public domain. The only one that is known to be in the frame is Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Former Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard and Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen are not in the running despite reports to the contrary, and we can now add Koeman’s name to the list who have been ruled out.

As Hendry mentions, it seems that while Director of Football Ross Wilson is taking his time in the recruitment process, there will likely be some developments very soon.
