Rangers are plotting a move for Aston Villa winger Nathan Dlamini, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The teenager is currently playing for the Villans’ Under 18s but he is expected to leave the Midlands club in the near future.

Dlamini is also being pursued by a number of English teams so the Gers will need to promise him a pathway to the first team if they are to secure the midfielder’s signature.

The Scottish side have experienced a talent drain from their academy in recent years, with a number of players being lured south of the border.

One notable example is Villa’s recruitment of promising striker Rory Wilson so it could be the case that the Gers are now looking to take a youngster in the opposite direction.

It is not believed a decision has been made on signing Dlamini just yet but it is definitely a transfer to keep an eye on.
