Rangers Weigh Up Free Transfer Move For Fullback Who Has 14 England Caps

Rangers are considering whether to make an approach for Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne, according to reports in the English media.

The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer and will be available on a free transfer, but there is uncertainty over whether the fullback would be interested in a move north of the border.

Clyne has had a series of injury problems over the last couple of years, which have restricted his game time. He has not played a single minute for the Reds this season after picking up an ACL injury during preseason back in July.

The former England international, who has 14 caps for his country, could well see a move to Ibrox as a way to revitalise his career, but there is likely to be fierce competition from English clubs.

Clyne’s wages could also prove to be a major stumbling block so, at this stage, the Light Blues’ interest in the fullback is seen as tentative at best.
