Rangers Vs St. Mirren: Match Preview & Injury News

Rangers are out for revenge on Saturday after falling to defeat against Celtic in the Old Firm derby last weekend – St. Mirren are the unfortunate team in the Light Blues’ crosshairs.

Rangers are set to be without Tom Lawrence, Nmandi Ofoborh, Steven Davis, Kemar Roofe and Filip Helander for their game against the Buddies. On top of this, Rabbi Matondo Connor Goldson are also doubts – they were expected to be fit and ready to take on Celtic last weekend, but both of them failed to make the matchday squad.

Gers fans won’t need reminding of what happened in their last game – nevertheless, here’s how their 3-2 defeat against Celtic panned out.

The Celts opened the scoring in the first half through Kyogo Furuhashi, only to be pegged back by James Tavernier on the stroke of half time. In the second half, Celtic went 3-1 up – Tavernier scored again to make it 3-2, but the Gers could not find the all-important equaliser.

Meanwhile, St. Mirren caused a shock last time out, as they defeated Hearts away from home by a score of 2-0. Curtis Main and Alex Gogic were the goalscorers on that day, as Hearts’ Robert Snodgrass was sent off.

The last time the two teams met, the scores were level at 1-1. St. Mirren led for much of the game – however, a late penalty from Tavernier got the Light Blues out of jail.
