Rangers Vs Dundee United: Match Preview & Injury News

As the Scottish Premiership season resumes, Rangers are gearing up to take on Dundee United at the Ibrox Stadium at 3pm on Saturday, April 1.

Rangers are expected to be without Nmandi Ofoborh, Steven Davis, Kemar Roofe, Tom Lawrence and Filip Helander for their clash against the Tangerines. Aditionally, Nicolas Raskin is a major doubt after he pulled out of the Belgium Under-21 squad with an injury. Currenty, his availibility is unclear.

The last league fixture between the two clubs came all the way back in September – in that game, Rangers emerged victorious after surviving a late scare from the Terrors.

The Light Blues went 2-0 up after a brace from Antonio Colak and looked to have the three points wrapped up – but United weren’t going to make it easy. A strike from Liam Smith got them back into the game, but they coud not find a equalising goal as Rangers took the win.

The Gers are currently second in the Scottish Premiership, nine points adrift of rivals Celtic. They will need to pick up all the points they can get if they are to keep the prssure on the Celts – additionally, they also need to hope that the green side of Glasgow drops points.

Meanwhile, Dundee United sit at the base of the table, having won just five games all season. Things currently look grim for United – with this being said, they are just two points away from safety. A win over Rangers would be a massive boost to their survival chances – the Light Blues will need to be careful in order to avoid a banana skin.
