Rangers Tracking Championship Winger After Impressing Scouts In Breakthrough Season

Rangers and Stoke City are keeping tabs on Dundee United winger Louis Appere, according to reports in the English media.

Both clubs are said to have sent scouts to see the 21-year-old in action this season, with the player having had a breakthrough campaign at Tannardice.

Up until this season, Appere had played just three senior games for United but manager Robbie Neilson has had no qualms about putting the player into the starting line up from the beginning of the campaign.

The forward has certainly rewarded the faith that has been shown in him, having scored six goals and contributed five assists in 33 appearances so far.

Appere can play for either France or Scotland, but he has already accepted a call-up to Scott Gemmill’s Under 21 side. He usually plays off the right wing, but he is just as adept starting from the left flank or as a central striker.
