Rangers Told To Pay 2.1M For Colombian Starlet As 4 Other Clubs Enter Transfer Battle

Independiente Sante Fe want at least $2.5m (£2.1m) for centre-back Kevin Mantilla, according to journalist Pipe Sierra.

The reliable Colombian reporter claims that the Rangers target has already been the subject of bids from Brazilian side Vasco Da Gama and AEK Athens, with Torino and an unnamed Portuguese team also in the mix:

Mantilla would qualify for a work permit as he is a regular for Colombia at Under 20 level. In terms of his club career, he has only played 20 senior matches but he has clearly impressed scouts with his performances.

Michael Beale’s side are likely to be in the market for a centre-half. James Sands has had his loan cut short, while Filip Helander is expected to leave Ibrox when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Securing the services of Mantilla won’t be easy, though, considering the amount of competition for his signature, so we shall see how this transfer story develops.
