Sochi are looking to hold out for a fee in the region of £8.5m for Rangers target Mateo Cassierra, according to The 4th Official.
The insider claims that preliminary discussions between the Light Blues and the Russian club have taken place and, while the Colombian forward wants to move to Scotland, the asking price could prove a major obstacle:
”When pressed on how close the move is in reality, I was told that the player has several options but Rangers is where Cassierra wants to move.
But, Rangers would not be paying anywhere close to £8.5m for the striker.”

Cassierra had an excellent season for Sochi, scoring 14 goals in 22 appearances, and he expressed his interest in making the switch to Ibrox during an interview earlier this week.
However, as the 4th Official mentions, there are other teams involved in the race for the 25-year-old and, if one of them does match Sochi’s valuation, it’s likely that Rangers will miss out on the player.
Talks are expected to be drawn out, and while the Bears remain in the running for Cassierra’s signature at the moment, a lot could change in the coming weeks.
