Rangers Set To Return With Second Offer For 21 Year Old Who Has Rejected New Contract At Current Club

Rangers will make a second bid for Oldham centre-back George Edmundson, according to reports in Scotland.

The Gers have already had an offer rejected for the 21-year-old by the English League Two side, but the defender is seemingly determined to leave.

Edmundson has reportedly turned down a new long-term contract to stay at Oldham and is likely to leave Boundary Park this summer for an appropriate fee.

It looks like the Latics will play hardball with any interested club, though, despite the centre-half only having 12 months left to run on his current deal.

Oldham are said to have also rejected an offer from an English Championship side and from a League One outfit.

With reports claiming there are at least five teams keen on signing Edmundson, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has a challenge on his hands to secure the defender’s services this summer.

The Old Firm club are keen to strengthen the centre of defence with Joe Worrall having returned to Nottingham Forest while Gareth McAuley will not have his contract extended.
