Rangers ‘Reignite’ Attempt To Sign Ex Leeds Ace As They Plan For Life Without Morelos

Rangers will “reignite” their interest in Anderlecht forward Kemar Roofe, according to the Scottish Sun. The newspaper claims that the former Leeds player is being targeted as a potential replacement for Alfredo Morelos.

The Englishman was on the Bears’ radar last summer, but the striker opted to move to Belgium instead. However, it hasn’t been an easy season for the 27-year-old, having suffered from a number of injury problems.

As a result, Roofe only played 16 games for Anderlecht before the campaign was curtailed, but he did manage to score seven goals, despite the difficulties.

Rangers would not have the funds to sign the forward unless Morelos is sold. The Colombian is reportedly valued in excess off £15m by the Light Blues with clubs in the Middle East said to be keen on the player.

With Anderlecht having paid Leeds £7m for Roofe last summer, it is thought that the Gers would have to pay a similar figure in order to secure his services.
