Rangers are weighing up whether to make a £3.5m offer for Preston North End goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The Light Blues are planning to sign a replacement for Allan McGregor, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and they have scouted Woodman as a potential option.
Gers representatives have watched the former England Under 21 international on several occasions this campaign and it is believed they were present when Preston took on Coventry City earlier this week.
Woodman came through the academy at Newcastle United and he has actually played in Scottish football before, having had loan spells at both Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
The 25-year-old left the Magpies on a permanent basis last summer and he has quickly established himself as a regular starter in the English Championship. Preston boss Ryan Lowe has already stated the club would consider offers of around £20m for the shot-stopper but Rangers will be hoping that he is bluffing.
