Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has picked up the Scottish Premiership manager of the month award for September. Despite losing the Old Firm derby at the start of the month, the Gers managed to secure three wins in a row following that setback.
The Light Blues won 3-1 against Livingston, 4-0 versus St Johnstone and 5-0 against Aberdeen to help them regain the ground they lost on Celtic after that disappointing defeat at Ibrox.
Meanwhile, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was handed the player of the month award for his goals in September. The Colombian international bagged one goal in each of the three victories, as well as also providing an assist in the win against the Dons.
It will be interesting to see whether Gerrard starts Morelos against Hearts on Sunday afternoon. Jermain Defoe scored a hat-trick in the 5-0 thrashing of Hamilton last time out and has had a rest during the international break.
