Rangers Outcast Poised To Leave With Clubs In The Middle East Plotting Move

Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty is being targeted by clubs in the Middle East and Cyprus, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Northern Irish international only returned to Ibrox last summer but has failed to establish himself in Steven Gerrard‘s side. He did not travel with the first-team out to Portugal for the pre-season training camp, placing his future at the club in doubt.

It is believed Lafferty is being eyed by teams in both Qatar and Saudi Arabia, while Cypriot clubs AEL Limassol and Apollon Limassol are also in the mix.

The 31-year-old was snapped up by the Gers for his second spell at the club last August but managed just six goals in 30 appearances.

With Alfredo Morelos the first choice striker, Lafferty found it hard to get game time, and the arrival of Jermain Defoe from Bournemouth in January reduced his minutes even further.

He made just eight starts in all competitions and ended the season on the sidelines with a back injury.
