Rangers winger Oscar Cortes earned himself the man of the match for his performance in the 2-0 win over Ayr United at the weekend.
The Colombian international was signed on loan from Lens before the transfer window closed but he was handed his first start for the Gers in the Scottish Cup.
Cortes got an assist for Borna Barisic’s opener and supporters on X were impressed by what they saw from the player before he was substituted on the hour mark:
Looking forward to seeing more of him.

The Rangers winger had a lively full debut
Cortes made quite an impression during his time on the pitch on Saturday. He had been only been deployed as a substitute by manager Philippe Clement before the Ayr game.
However, the 20-year-old was clearly very keen to impress, having hit the post as well as providing the assist for Barisic’s goal.
There are bigger tests to come for Cortes
Of course, it is one thing doing it against Championship opposition, and quite another producing the goods against higher calibre teams in the Premiership on a regular basis.
The Gers face Ross County on Wednesday night and it will be interesting to see whether Cortes’s performance against Ayr will be enough to get him a starting spot for the second game in a row.
