Rangers remain keen on signing striker Lyle Taylor, according to the Daily Record. However, the newspaper claims that the Light Blues have yet to offer a contract to the free agent, who left Charlton Athletic at the end of last month.

The 30-year-old scored 11 goals in the English Championship last season but decided against extending his deal beyond June 30th despite the fact that the campaign had still not reached its conclusion.

Taylor is also being eyed by Old Firm rivals Celtic, as well as seven other clubs, including Premier League outfit Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Swansea, West Brom, Galatasaray and Sivasspor.

The Gers are likely to be looking to reinforce their options up front after Florian Kamberi returned to Hibernian following his loan spell.

Manager Steven Gerrard only has two senior strikers in Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe available to him, and Taylor would certainly bring extra firepower into the squad if he was signed on a free transfer.
