Rangers Make Audacious Move For Manchester City Wonderkid

Rangers have made an enquiry for Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden, according to the Mirror. The Gers and Serie A club Roma tested the waters to see if the 19-year-old was available on loan but the Premier League champions are not willing to let him leave.

The England Under 21 international has only made two substitute appearances this season, coming in the Community Shield against Liverpool and in the 5-0 win versus West Ham last month.

Foden’s lack of minutes led to Rangers contacting City about the possibility of taking him on a temporary basis. However, it is believed the Premier League club’s manager Pep Guardiola sees the teenager as a key player in his squad.

It would have been a huge coup if Foden arrived at Ibrox, and you can’t fault the ambition of the Light Blues, but it must be said that the Scottish club already have a whole host of central midfield players to choose from.
