Rangers Identify Right Wing Solution As They Target Bulgarian Ace With 9 Goals And 12 Assists This Season

Rangers are one of the clubs interested in signing Ludogorets winger Kiril Despodov, according to reports in the Bulgarian media.

The Scottish champions are said to be pursuing the 25-year-old, along with Istanbul Basaksehir, Galatasaray and Olympiakos.

Despodov generally plays off the right-wing, which is a problem position for manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who has employed Scott Wright, Ianis Hagi and Fashion Sakala in the role since his arrival at Ibrox.

With that being the case, you have to think that the links to Despodov do have some credibility, although it remains to be seen how much Ludogorets will demand for the player.

The Bulgarian international has been in excellent form so far this season, scoring nine goals and contributing 12 assists in only 29 appearances.

After a disappointing draw against Aberdeen on Tuesday night, fans are hoping for reinforcements in the January transfer window to sustain the club’s title challenge. James Sands has already been brought in so could Despodov be the next one through the door?
