Rangers Hoping To Secure 3M Deal For Midfield Maestro By Sunday

Rangers are looking to tie up a deal for Preston North End midfielder Daniel Johnson before Sunday’s game against Motherwell, according to the Scottish Sun:

Although there are still some details that need to be sorted out, manager Steven Gerrard is said to be optimistic that the 27-year-old will be a Light Blues player by the weekend.

The Gers are reportedly prepared to pay £3m for Johnson and, with the playmaker out of contract at the end of the season, Preston are said to be resigned to the player leaving before the transfer window shuts.

It is believed that the Jamaican is very keen on a move to Ibrox, which has no doubt helped the Scottish club in negotiations for the player.

If Johnson does seal his switch to Rangers, it will be the Bears’ eighth signing since the start of the summer, following the arrivals of Jermain Defoe, Ianis Hagi, Leon Balogun, Jon McLaughlin, Calvin Bussey, Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe.
