Rangers Have Placed 5M Asking Price On Key First Team Player

Rangers will allow Borna Barisic to leave Ibrox for £5m during the transfer window, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The 29-year-old has played 22 matches so far this season, starting eight out of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s nine matches in charge since the Dutchman’s appointment in November. However, it appears that Barisic will be let go if a club matches his asking price this month.

English Premier League outfit Watford have reportedly tried their luck already, with an initial £2m bid having been rejected. The Hornets returned with an improved offer, which included another £1.5m in add-ons, but that was also knocked back.

It is believed that Claudio Ranieri’s side have now moved on to other targets but it remains to be seen whether other clubs will make their move for Barisic before the window closes.

The Croatian international still has two and a half years remaining on the contract he signed in January 2020, and fans will be hoping he stays at the club.
