Rangers Have Made “Official Offer” Worth 5.1M For 6 Cap International Defender

Rangers have tabled an “official offer” for Besiktas fullback Ridvan Yilmaz, according to beIN Sports journalist Gurler Akgun.

The Turkish reporter claims that the Light Blues have proposed to pay €6m (£5.1m) including add-ons, although he doesn’t say whether the bid has been accepted or not:

Guler does mention that Yilmaz is keen on playing European football and he is prepared to leave in order to raise money for his cash-strapped club, so it looks as though he would be very much open to joining Rangers.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side were expected to pursue a left-back after the departure of Calvin Bassey, and it appears that they have identified Yilmaz as the Nigerian’s replacement.

The Turkish defender has already been capped six times by his country at senior level despite only being 21 years of age. He is a player with a great deal of potential, who could be a perfect alternative to Borna Barisic.
