Rangers Handed Major Boost In Battle To Keep Hold Of Alfredo Morelos

Leicester City will not make any move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Record.

There had been claims in the English media that the Foxes were weighing up a bid for the Colombian international but Brendan Rodgers’ side are not believed to be interested in the forward.

Morelos has suggested that he would be open to moving to England, but he has also emphasised that he has received no approaches from clubs in the Premier League.

The likes of Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have been reportedly tracking the 23-year-old but Gers manager Steven Gerrard has made it clear in no uncertain terms that the striker will be going nowhere in January.

Morelos is the Light Blues’ top goalscorer this season, having netted 22 times in 26 appearances. He is currently away on international duty, with Colombia facing Peru and Ecuador in friendlies this week.
