Rangers Handed Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Huge Champions League Qualifier

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has revealed that both Ryan Kent and James Sands will be available for tonight’s Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven.

Kent was not selected in the squad for the 4-0 win over St Johnstone at the weekend, prompting fears that he had suffered a recurrence of an old injury.

The former Liverpool winger had previously been sidelined for the best part of ten days after picking up a knock in the season opener against Livingston, but van Bronckhorst has said he was rested on Saturday as a precaution.

Sands also missed out on the St Johnstone game, having sustained a minor injury during the 3-0 second leg victory against Union Saint-Gilloise. The American international put in a noteworthy performance at centre-back that night, helping to keep a clean sheet as the Gers sealed their passage to the playoff round of the Champions League.

Whether the defender will be picked from the start again this evening, we shall have to wait and see, but Kent will almost certainly be recalled to the lineup.
