Rangers Find Compromise With United Star As Personal Terms Are Agreed Ahead Of Ibrox Transfer

Rangers have agreed personal terms with Manchester United loanee Jack Butland, according to reports in the English media.

It is believed that the Light Blues were initially taken aback by the England international’s wage demands but they have ultimately reached a compromise with the keeper.

Butland’s contract with parent club Crystal Palace expires at the end of next month but the 30-year-old could be announced as a Rangers player before then.

Dujon Sterling was confirmed by the club as a “pre-contract signing” on Tuesday and it’s likely a similar thing will happen with Butland very soon, barring any last-minute hitches.

Why have Rangers decided to sign Butland?

Manager Michael Beale has been looking for a new number one who has a great deal of experience, and he identified Butland as the player he wanted.

The shot-stopper has been capped nine times at international level, while he also has 290 senior club games under his belt.

It should be pointed out, though, that Butland hasn’t played a single minute of first-team football this campaign and there will be an element of ring-rustiness when he first puts on the gloves for the Gers.
