Rangers Could Revive Bid To Sign 3.7M Rated Midfielder Who Is Still Talking To Gerrard

Rangers could still sign Amiens midfielder Bongani Zungu on a pre-contract agreement in January, according to reports in South Africa.

The 27-year-old’s move to Ibrox collapsed last month after the Light Blues refused to pay his €4m (£3.7m) asking price, but it is believed Gers boss Steven Gerrard is still in contact with the player.

Zungu’s current deal with Amiens expires next summer and he is currently training away from the first-team squad until his future is sorted out. The South African international wants to leave on loan but his club won’t sanction such a move until he signs a new contract.

There is a growing possibility that the midfielder could be frozen out until the end of the season, and it appears he could agree a free transfer to Rangers in the next few months ahead of the move going ahead in July next year.

However, there are believed to be other interested parties with Strasbourg and clubs in Spain and Italy also reportedly keen on Zungu.
