Rangers Could Miss Out On Chelsea Starlet As BBC Journalist Claims EPL Side Are About To Begin “Full Negotiations”

Everton are ready to step up their interest and begin “full negotiations” to sign Rangers target Billy Gilmour on loan, according to Fraser Fletcher.

The journalist, who has worked for the BBC, claims that the Toffees are one of a number of clubs who have made enquiries about the player but they are expected to be the first to hold formal talks with Chelsea:

While the Gers are not exactly short of options in the middle of the park, Gilmour would still be an excellent addition to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad.

His quality in possession makes him perfectly suited for the role usually taken up by Ryan Jack, while his greater mobility means he is better able to get around the pitch.

Considering Rangers will have European football (either Champions League or Europa League), it would surely be more beneficial for Gilmour’s development if he moved to Ibrox.

Everton may find themselves in a relegation battle, much like Norwich did last season, and the 21-year-old is unlikely to be keen on repeating the experience he had with the Canaries.
