Rangers Could Consider Selling Top Star For £8m

Rangers captain James Tavernier is a top target for new Newcastle manager Steve Bruce, according to reports in England.

The 27-year-old is said to be one of the names that the Magpies boss would like to sign in order to reinforce his squad ahead of the new season.

Tavernier is a key player for the Gers, having scored 17 goals and provided 20 assists in 57 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side in all competitions last campaign.

Even so, it is being reported that the Scottish club would consider offers north of £8m for the fullback.

There have been other reports this summer that Premier League clubs such as Brighton and Aston Villa are also interested in Tavernier, but there have been no concrete bids made yet.

Supporters will be hoping that no offers are tabled for the defender and he can continue his rich vein of form this season as Rangers look to claim league title number 55.
