Rangers Confirm Their Eighth Signing Of The Transfer Window

Rangers have signed Manchester City winger Brandon Barker for an undisclosed fee, the club have confirmed. The 22-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Ibrox.

The former England Under 20 international has previously had a spell in Scotland whilst on loan at Hibernian two years ago, and he has also had loans at NAC Breda, Rotherham and Preston North End.

Barker’s arrival will effectively end Rangers’ pursuit of Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, with both players preferring to play on the left flank.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard confirmed yesterday that the Scottish club had made another approach for the Reds midfielder this week, only to have their offer knocked back by the Premier League side.

Barker is Rangers’ eighth signing of the transfer window so far. The club have already signed Filip Helander, Steven Davis, Jake Hastie, Greg Stewart, Joe Aribo, George Edmundson and Jordan this summer.

With a few weeks to go, you still cannot rule out more incomings and outgoings before September 2nd.
