Rangers Competing With ‘Several English Championship Clubs’ As Race For £2M Rated Arsenal Defender Heats Up

Rangers will have to see off “several English Championship clubs” if they want to sign Arsenal centre-back Auston Trusty, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Bears have been heavily linked with a move for the American international, who has impressed during a loan spell at Birmingham City this season.

It is believed that City are keen on keeping hold of Trusty but there are also a number of other teams in England’s second tier targeting the defender.

Arsenal signed Trusty from Colorado Rapids in January last year, before loaning him back to the MLS team. The 24-year-old was then sent to Birmingham at the start of this season.

He has performed well for the Blues, making 48 appearances in all competitions, and he was handed his first senior cap for his country back in March. It is believed that Rangers would need to pay at least £2m to secure his services this summer.
