Rangers are interested in signing former Manchester City and Everton midfielder Fabian Delph on a free transfer, according to reports in the English media

The 32-year-old, who has been capped 20 times by England, is currently without a club but the Gers are said to be weighing up whether to offer the ex-Aston Villa player a contract.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will, though, have competition for Delph’s services, with at least five other clubs looking to snap him up.

English Championship leaders Sheffield United are believed to be interested, along with Middlesbrough, West Brom and Sunderland, while League One outfit Derby County are also reportedly in the mix.

Rangers would be the most attractive destination for Delph, considering they can offer him Champions League football, but the Light Blues may not be able to guarantee him the game time he wants, so we shall see who wins the race for his signature.
