Rangers Are Hoping To Use Close Connection To Help Them Gazump Arsenal And United For 18 Year Old

Rangers are hoping that Calvin Bassey’s friendship with Dennis Gyamfi will help them beat Manchester United, Arsenal and Feyenoord to the 18-year-old’s signature, according to the Daily Record.

The Bears has already confirmed that Bassey will be joining from Leicester in July, and they are now hoping he can persuade his Foxes teammate to make the same move.

Gyamfi actually played with Bassey when they were going through the academy system in London, before they were signed for Leicester, so there is a close connection between the pair.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard is looking to strengthen his options at right-back, following the departure of Jon Flanagan, and Gyamfi is seen as a tremendous prospect.

With Ricardo Pereira and James Justin ahead of him in the pecking order at the King Power Stadium, the teenager could well be considering leaving the Foxes when his contract expires at the end of this month.
