Rangers And Celtic Set To Battle It Out For TWO Nigerian Under 23 Internationals

Rangers and Celtic are both interested in Nigerian duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Fatai Gbadamosi, according to reports in the UK.

Awoniyi is a Liverpool player but he is currently on loan in Germany with Bundesliga side Union Berlin, where he has scored five goals in his last eight league appearances.

It is believed Awoniyi is available but Liverpool may demand as much as £5m, despite the fact that the 23-year-old has never played for the Reds due to work permit issues. During his five and a half years at the Merseyside club, he has had loan spells at six separate teams.

Far less is known about Gbadamosi. The player is currently playing in Nigeria for Shooting Stars and he has never played outside of his country. He’s 22 years of age and he is a midfielder by trade.

Like Awoniyi, Gbadamosi has played for Nigeria’s Under 23s but he didn’t make the squad for the African Cup of Nations.
