Rangers Add 25 Year Old EPL Star To “Wanted List” But Move Depends On One Of Three Players Leaving

Rangers have added Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy to their “wanted list”, according to the Sunday Mail.

The Scottish publication claims that the 25-year-old is being looked at as a potential target before the transfer window closes but, at the moment, signing a wide player is not top of the agenda.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard has publicly stated that he is keen on signing a new central midfielder, and this is currently the focus of the Scottish club’s transfer activity. However, a move for Murphy could still happen on one condition.

One of Jamie Murphy, Greg Stewart or Brandon Barker will need to be offloaded in order for the Light Blues to bring in the Newcastle midfielder.

Murphy is coming off a decent loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday where he scored nine goals in 44 appearances, and the player is said to be holding out some hope that he still has a future at St James’ Park. Even so, it is thought that the Magpies will sell him for the right price.
