Rangers Ace Suggests Decision On Future Will Be Made In The Summer

Rangers winger Jamie Murphy is hopeful that he can impress enough on loan at English League One side Burton Albion to get a second chance at Ibrox.

The 30-year-old was offloaded to the Brewers in the transfer window last month, but when asked if he knows what the future holds for him, beyond the end of the season, Murphy replied that everything will likely be decided in the summer:

“We’ll worry about everything else in the summer. I think it all depends on how I do on loan. But I’d still make the move to Rangers, despite the injury and what’s happened.”

“I wanted to play for Rangers. I’d obviously still like to play for Rangers and so that’s why I’ll always do the best I can.”

Murphy has gotten off to a very good start to life at Burton. He has only played four games but he has already scored two goals and contributed one assist. His second goal against Rotherham was a particular highlight, cutting in from the left-hand side before curling in a right-footed effort from just inside the box.

It wasn’t enough to prevent his side losing 3-2 on the day, though, and after a 0-0 draw against Gillingham at the weekend, he has yet to be on the winning side for his new club.
