Rangers Ace Scores Brace For Scotland In Defeat For Under 19s

Rangers striker Dapo Mebude scored twice for Scotland’s Under 19s but he was unable to prevent his side losing 3-2 to Japan in a friendly.

The Japanese went 2-0 up in the game before the Gers starlet scored two penalties to get the game back level, but their opponents were able to restore their lead.

Mebude was joined in the starting line up by Rangers teammate Josh McPake. The midfielder is currently on a season-long loan at Championship side Dundee to continue his development.

The Gers opted against sending Mebude out on loan and after making his senior debut at the back end of last season, the 18-year-old is currently making appearances for the Under 21s.

The forward started the first two rounds of the Challenge Cup, scoring in the 2-1 win against Berwick Rangers back in August. He will likely feature once again when the Under 21s face Ballymena United in the third round later this month.
