Rangers’ £3.6m Move For South African Midfielder Takes A New Twist

Amiens have confirmed that they are in the process of loaning out midfielder Bongani Zungu to an unnamed club.

The South African international was reportedly close to a £3.6m move to Rangers earlier this summer before the transfer stalled and now Amiens president, Bernard Joannin, has revealed the player could leave on a temporary basis instead:

“Bongani Zungu has been offered to a club to go on loan. The move is in progress and should be completed very soon.”

Gers boss Steven Gerrard has said that the Light Blues are actively looking for another midfielder, although it does appear that they have moved on to other targets.

There was much criticism of Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara’s performances against Livingston last weekend and there is certainly the need to find a more dynamic player in the middle of the park.

As well as Zungu, the likes of CSKA Sofia’s Kristiyan Malinov and Brest’s Haris Belkebla have been suggested as possible options, but many supporters would be hoping for the Bears to go after more attack-minded players.
