Rangers look set to sign midfielder Ianis Hagi on a permanent basis from Racing Genk, according to reports in the Romanian media.
There have been doubts over whether the 21-year-old would stay at Ibrox, with some questioning whether the Gers could afford to pay €5m (£4.4m) in the current financial climate.
However, it is believed that both Hagi and the Scottish club are happy for the deal to be finalised. Supporters on Twitter are hoping that the rumours turn out to be true:
let's hope so. hagi is perfect for rangers

It means both Rangers and Ianis are happy with the deal.
Presumably there was some sort of option for either party to back out, given it wasn't a permanent contract

I hope this is true

He’s literally the goalscoring midfielder we’ve been crying out for 2 months. Not only that last year he turned down Barca last year as he wouldn’t get much game time.

In an interview with the club’s official website at the weekend, Rangers chairman Douglas Park had suggested that the Light Blues do not have a shortfall in their finances with outside investment having shored up any losses.
If that leads to more funds for transfers, it would suggest a move to snap up Hagi is a realistic possibility. We shall have to wait and see whether an announcement is made about the Romanian star’s future.
