Rangers signed Scott Arfield on a free transfer from Burnley a year ago today, and it’s fair to say that the 30-year-old has more than lived up to expectations.
The midfielder has scored 12 goals and contributed seven assists in 46 appearances during his first season at Ibrox, with most of his best games coming in the centre of the pitch rather than out wide.
Supporters on Twitter were quick to give credit to Arfield for his displays this campaign:
Outstanding signing. Made such a difference in our midfield. Especially in the old firms and now he’s linking up with Kamara Davis and Defoe. Struggle to see how any of them lose their places for any new signings.

Arfield has been in top form in recent weeks, scoring a goal against Hearts and a hat-trick versus Motherwell before the split.
However, his most memorable moment so far has to be his goal in the Old Firm derby last weekend, which sealed a 2-0 win against Celtic.
With the Scottish born Canadian international in the peak years of his career, fans should be expecting some equally impressive performances from the midfielder next season.
