The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell claims an altercation between Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and captain James Tavernier during the 1-1 draw against St Mirren sums up the divisions in the dressing room.
Campbell says Tavernier “openly shouted back” at his manager after being the subject of criticism from van Bronckhorst:
After Saturday’s HT sub, Van Bronckhorst has taken off at least one player at the break for non-injury reasons no fewer than 11 times in a year.
It may show he has a ruthless streak but it doesn’t suggest good preparation or that he trusts his players.https://t.co/cOgsJlidaD

It wasn’t the only incident that raised alarm bells either. Glen Kamara did not return to the bench after being substituted at half-time.
He was seen standing in the tunnel fully dressed and it is believed that there was a further exchange between van Bronckhorst and the Finnish international after the final whistle.
With the Gers now nine points behind Celtic and, with the players losing faith in their manager, you have to wonder whether the board will be forced to make a change in the dugout during the break for the World Cup. As things stand, there is no indication that will happen but the pressure is growing on van Bronckhorst.
