Rangers winger Sheyi Ojo has not won over a lot of fans since he arrived on loan from Liverpool in the summer. He has had flashes of inspiration such as his goal against Feyenoord last month, but there have been too many instances where he has failed to perform.
Manager Steven Gerrard has said in the past that Ojo lacks consistency, and he has encouraged the 22-year-old to make more of an impact in games, but he was disappointing once again against Hearts at the weekend. Fans on Twitter have been discussing whether the midfielder is good enough to play for the club:
Young kid with potential. Nowhere near Rangers required level.

Hes got it in him to be but seems lazy at doing the hard graft

Makes the game hard for himself. He holds onto the ball too long and lacks desire, Kent, Jones and Murphy are more direct and work harder.

Lazy player, of no use to us. Really needs to up his work rate

He is a good player but maybe too luxurious for our league. I cannot see him making the grade at Liverpool but that is a hard task anyway. On the right when he cuts inside he is always looking to get a shot away and scored a few early on. Wouldn’t make my starting 11 at Rangers.

Just drifts in and out of games to much. To many games so far where he has not turned up.

He's a kid. This time last season Kent had similar doubters. He definitely needs to be dropped and given less game time, but at the end of the day it isn't his fault Kent got injured and Jones lost his head in the Old Firm game and also got injured.

Nowhere near good enough. For me Jones will offer far more throughout the season. Ojo looks too scared to run at defenders, so frustrating.

I've been saying all season he doesn't bring enough to the table. Yes he's got goals in him and the odd assist but for me he doesn't get involved in games nearly enough. He doesn't put pressure on defenders when they are in possession, track back or chase down a loose ball. ???

Five goals and four assists in 18 games doesn’t sound like a bad return, but it must be said most of those came in the Europa League qualifying rounds. Ojo has managed just one goal in the Premiership so far, and that came all the way back in August in the 6-1 win over Hibs.
With other players in the squad waiting to get the chance, the winger’s inconsistency may see him get less game time as the season wears on.
