‘No More, Enough Is Enough’ ‘Time For Someone Else’ Rangers Fans On Twitter Call For Change After Talisman’s Latest Miss

Rangers captain James Tavernier missed his third penalty of the season against Motherwell. With the Gers 1-0 down, the right-back stepped up for the spot-kick in the first half but only managed to hit the post with his effort.

After misses from 12 yards against Progres Niederkorn and Feyenoord already this season, supporters on Twitter are now calling on manager Steven Gerrard to take the penalty duties off Tavernier:

When asked about the situation after the Light Blues came from behind to win 2-1 at Ibrox yesterday, Gerrard said he will be considering taking Tavernier off penalties:

“I’ll consider it. I don’t think I have to make that decision right now but it will certainly be something on my mind in the next 24 – 48 hours.”

Tavernier’s form, in general, has been pretty disappointing this season, with defensive errors also contributing to the debate about whether the 27-year-old should be dropped from the first team.

Even with his poor performances, though, the fullback has made some telling contributions, having scored three goals, and provided nine assists, including one for Filip Helander’s winner versus Motherwell.
