‘No Club To Club Contact’ But Portuguese Giants Are Keen On Signing 15M Rated Rangers Marksman

Porto are interested in signing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos but there has been “no club to club contact” according to The Athletic‘s Jordan Campbell.

The website’s Gers’ correspondent claims the Portuguese team’s financial situation means they have been biding their time in terms of firming up their interest.

Financial Fairplay restrictions had restricted Porto’s efforts to sign players earlier this summer but there is now more scope to spend on new additions, and that could lead to a formal approach for Morelos soon.

Campbell claims “there is not a queue” of clubs interested in the Colombian international, and that means the Light Blues can’t expect to get more than the £15m they were demanding last summer.

Morelos will be sold if the asking price is met. That was confirmed publicly by Director of Football Ross Wilson in November last year but, as things stand, there has been no official offers for Morelos from any club.
