Rangers are believed to be on the verge of snapping up midfielder Juninho Bacuna from English Championship side Huddersfield Town.
The 24-year-old is expected to be brought in for a low transfer fee. It is said that add-ons will be used to persuade Huddersfield into selling up, with the Curacao international having less than a year left on his contract.
When asked whether they thought Bacuna would be a good signing, some supporters on Twitter admitted they didn’t know much about him, while others feel it is a good piece of business:
Good age. Plays regular for Huddersfield but probably needs a new challenge. Being Dutch *not internationally* he’ll be brought up being good on the ball. No brainer.

Surely get better out there, as always I trust the management on this though.

never heard of him before, but gotta trust our mgt and recruitment team. If they see something in him, then we gotta give him a chance. Hadnt heard of Arribo, Kent etc till we signed them.

Know nothing about him. If he comes in then he has to hit the ground running and at least be a threat from distance. We have two of the greatest strikers of a ball from distance in our dugout yet our midfield is scared to take a shot from distance.

Never heard of him if am honest. But if SG rates him he must be pretty decent

The low cost of the deal means there is very little risk for Rangers so even if Bacuna doesn’t perform that well, it won’t have cost them a fortune.
Some fans may be disappointed that the Gers haven’t gone for a more ambitious signing, like Heerenveen’s Joey Veerman, to strengthen the club’s midfield options but signing the Dutchman always looked unrealistic after the Light Blues were knocked out of the Champions League.
